Safeguarding Policy and Systems Development and Review
Supporting Schools to Create Policies They Understand, Own and Use

Strong safeguarding policies do more than satisfy compliance requirements. They provide clarity, support decision-making and help create a culture where safeguarding responsibilities are understood throughout the school.

We support schools to develop, review and strengthen safeguarding policies that are relevant to their context and practical to implement.

Our role is not to write policies on your behalf. Instead, we provide expert guidance, constructive challenge and detailed feedback to help your leadership team make informed decisions about what should be included and how policies should operate within your community.

This approach ensures that policies are not simply adopted from another setting or copied from a template. They are developed with a clear understanding of your school's culture, governance structure, legal environment and safeguarding priorities.

Even the best policy will fail if staff do not understand how concerns are reported, managed and escalated.
We help schools create practical safeguarding systems that support consistent decision-making and clear accountability.
This may include:
-
Safeguarding team structures.
-
Roles and responsibilities.
-
Reporting and escalation pathways.
-
Child protection enquiry processes.
-
Case management systems.
-
Safeguarding flowcharts and decision-making tools.
-
Governance oversight arrangements.
-
Safer recruitment procedures.
Our focus is always on creating systems that staff can follow, leaders can oversee, and safeguarding teams can use with confidence.
Strong Policies Need Strong Systems

Why We Don't Write Policies for Schools
Effective safeguarding policies require ownership.

The conversations, decisions and discussions that take place during policy development are often as important as the final document itself. Schools that actively engage in the development process are more likely to understand, implement and consistently apply their policies in practice.

Our role is to help schools make informed decisions, identify gaps, consider international best practice and develop policies that genuinely reflect their community.

The final policy remains your policy - developed by your school, for your school, with the support of experienced safeguarding professionals.

"The accreditation visit all went well. They were happy with the safeguarding policy and procedures we have in place and described it as comprehensive in their initial feedback".
