Safeguarding Training Certification
Levels 1 to 3: the certification ladder for every role in your school, from support staff to safeguarding leads.

Every course is CPD-certified and available online or onsite,
for individuals or whole teams

Level 1: Safeguarding Foundation
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and it only works when every adult in the building knows what to look for and what to do. Level 1 establishes that shared foundation across your whole school, so no concern goes unnoticed because someone assumed it wasn't their job.

The course builds a common baseline of safeguarding awareness for every adult in your school community. It covers: - Recognising Abuse. The indicators of physical, emotional and sexual abuse, and of neglect. - Reporting Concerns. Your school's internal referral process, and how to record what you've seen or heard accurately. - Professional Boundaries. The staff code of conduct and safe working practices. - The International Context. The safeguarding risks specific to international school communities, from transient populations to differing cultural norms.

Level 2: Enhanced Safeguarding
Some staff notice things first, and what they do next matters. Level 2 builds the judgement to look at everyday situations through a safeguarding lens, with core training for every school and a choice of topics so you can focus on what your staff need most right now.

These are the people who see and hear more than anyone else in your school. This training equips them to act on it. A course shaped around your school Every Level 2 certification covers two core elements: - Duty of Care. What is expected of middle leaders and above, including those who don't sit on the child protection team. The role of a safeguarding committee and a child protection team within your school, and a refresher on the types of abuse. - Boundary Drift and Grooming. Individuals who want access to a child rarely start with the child. They groom the adults around them, and often the organisation itself. This session explores the psychology behind that process, and how small shifts in staff behaviour make it easier for those with bad intentions to avoid detection and harder for colleagues to challenge. You then choose the topic most relevant to your school and your people right now: - Peer-on-Peer Abuse, delivered in versions tailored to younger or older students. - Reporting and Recording. Writing reports that are clear, factual and free from assumption, so your safeguarding team can act on them immediately without losing the context you naturally hold. - Online Risks. The risks students currently face online, both from other people and from AI. - Behaviour as Communication. How behaviour can mask trauma and abuse. What brain development and adverse childhood experiences tell us, and why behaviour is a form of communication we need to read. Finding it hard to choose between the topics? Talk with us about the options so your team can cover more of the topics in the same certification cycle. If there's a topic you think would be valuable for your school, tell us. We're always considering what to add.

When a concern is raised, your safeguarding leads carry the weight of what happens next. This advanced certification prepares them for that responsibility, from strategic oversight and legal compliance to the judgement calls that complex child protection cases demand.

Level 3: Advanced Safeguarding (DSL)
The course covers: - Statutory Duties. Current legislation and the international inspection frameworks your school answers to, including CIS and BSO. - Policy and Governance. Developing and auditing school-wide safeguarding policies that hold up in practice, not just on paper. - Case Management. Managing complex child protection cases and overseeing long-term protection plans. - Staff Supervision. What historical failings teach us, and how to apply those lessons before harm occurs in your own community.
