OUR TRAINING
Safe Touch and Positive Handling
Confidence around physical contact, consent and culture, whatever you teach

Staff in international schools navigate physical contact every day, comforting a distressed child, adjusting a dancer's posture, supporting a student in the pool, and most have never been given clear guidance on how.
This training builds shared expectations around consent, cultural difference and working as a team, with versions designed for the settings where contact is part of the job: early years, drama and music, sports and dance.
Our focus throughout is reducing the need for any physical handling.
We do not train restraint techniques.

Safe Touch
Specifically designed for staff who engage in frequent physical interaction with students. Participants are grouped by specialism for tailored content:
-
Group 1: Specialist Staff (PE, Music, and Drama).
-
Group 2: Classroom and Early Years Staff.

WHAT
The session builds shared expectations around physical contact, protecting students and giving staff confidence. It covers:

- Consent. What consent means with children of different ages, how to seek it, and how to recognise when it isn't there.

- Appropriate Contact. When physical contact is right, necessary and professional, and how to be confident rather than fearful about it.

- Culture and Context. How cultural difference shapes what contact means, in an international community where staff and students bring different norms.

- Reducing the Need for Handling. Reading situations early, de-escalating as a team, and creating environments where physical intervention rarely becomes necessary.
We do not train restraint techniques.

- Boundaries That Protect Everyone. Clear, shared expectations that safeguard students and protect staff from misunderstanding.
Versions of this training are designed for the settings where contact is part of the job: early years, drama and music, sports and dance.
Most schools begin with the staff for whom contact is part of the role. The consent and culture content benefits every adult in the school.

HOW

"Right throughout every layer of the entire presentation... all of the visuals, all of the case studies, it was blazingly apparent how much she (Rosie) had prepared/tailored the session to us and our working contexts. It was deeply impressive and felt completely above and beyond! It was very thought provoking for our dancers/staff and has given us a lot to think about as we continue sharing our work around the world."
